This is the third speaker

This is the third speaker tape I have listened to of June and I love her more every time. I related to her story so much so many years ago and still relate today. She has taught me more about myself by being herself. Thank you. Today I am sober and what a great miracle.

June G. will always hold a

June G. will always hold a special place in my heart among AA speakers. The first time I heard her was when my sponsor gave me a cassette of her speaking at the 1990 International Convention. I was just a few months shy of having 3 years of sobriety and when she talked about being at an AA dance/dinner and realized that she was ok with her looks. her clothes, her family,..just everthing about her life, I broke down crying from gratitude because for the first time in my life I realized that I felt the same. I have listened to hundreds of speakers since then and when ever I need a "pick me up" I still listen to her story. Unfortunately I got my priorities screwedup and went out at almost 10 years. I nearly didn't make it back(for several years I tried very hard not to survive). Today I still listen to June's story when I'm feeling down. Of all the speakers I have had the pleasure to hear June is still my "own jewel"!
